C'mon Warner make your mind up. I was happy when you started with PCM on Departed. But you can't seem to be bothered again.

Kinda of disappointing especially with all the cut sfx in this one. But it's still a terrific movie and I'll be buying it.
640 Kpbs.. if I wanted DVD quality audio. I wouldn't undergo bought a blu-ray or HD-DVD player. No sale from me even though I really desire the blink. I'll stick to my R3 DVD (with DTS). It's not always about the PQ for everyone.

Could it be due to the fact that this movie is 170 minutes long and lossless audio would have taken up more than 30GB of space?
Guess I might as come up just buy the DVD version unless the BD version is the same determine as the DVD.
I don't understand why they didn't just add a PCM bring in for the BD version. It doesn't require an convert correct? It's just the same track as encoded into DD only prior to compression. And no licensing fees. Doesn't alter comprehend. alter: I had a thought that maybe this was a BD25 thus no space for PCM. But accoring to the only info I've found on tech specs that's not the inspect and it is on a BD50. Even more confusing.
I'm getting really frustrated with studios not using lossless audio. This title warrants lossless so another no sale on a title I would have picked up alter away.
No sale for me. Perhaps the 'neutral' Studio should take a look at the exclusive Studios and see what they are doing.
What a bunch of slackers over at Warner. The Aviator has some really great appear too.
You're alter but ummmm.. and the big difference is.. that difference is too small.

Cinema Dolby Digital sucks. DTS is exceed. And PCM 24/48 with DLP is way exceed.
Either DTS. SDDS or Dolby Digital or analog. As of right now DCI is not using PCM until Fraunhofer Institute finishes with thier complaince portion. D-Cinema CAN use PCM but not yet not while the standard is "change state"

Sorry but your math is way off. 16 bit 48KHz PCM @ 4.6Mb/sec * 170 min * 60 sec/min = ~5.8GB. change surface a 24 bit 7.1 PCM audio track only comes in at ~9.4GB for a 170 minute run length.
I evaluate he meant more than 30gb for the whole movie. Meaning we might be getting a HD-DVD friendly register size on BRD.
I don't think so. HP:GOF is announced for HD-DVD and it's come up over 2 hours with TrueHD and tons of extras. I think Warner is just being lazy on this disc (for both sides).
Does anyone else get the feeling Warner is either:Not really format nuetral orIs planning some "Special Editions" (with improved audio) in the future to get the BD displace to double dip?Regards,Dom
